The level 3 Piano Tuning Service is for pianos that are quite out of tune. Possibly the piano's last tuning was a long time ago, or if your piano needs A considerable pitch raise may be needed, followed by going back through the pianos tuning two, three, or maybe even four times during the visit! This is due to the fact that the piano is getting used to the tension. Just like a pair of boots, when you put them on, and lace them up, they are tight. But after walking forces are put on it, the shoe settles, and you may need to retie the shoe. After re-tying the shoe, its stays put. Similar with a piano, when your cinch the piano up to pitch, all the wood and metal structure is put under new strain, and it will adjust to it. The better quality the piano, the less it gives in.

How Often Do I Tune My Piano?
Piano Tuning is recommended twice a year (every 6 months) by many piano manufacturing companies. This accommodates for seasonal changes, as well as stretching and settling of the strings over the following years of its newer life.
Mathisen Piano recommends piano tuning once every 6 months or more for newer pianos. Pianos that are over 10 years old will have had significant time for the strings to stretch and settle. Therefore, scheduling a piano tuning once a year may be sufficient for some piano owners. The minimum is to tune your piano once a year. I will be up front and honest with you on when you should get your piano tuned next time.
